About the Book: It’s Alex’s second year in the city of Eidolon, and she is ready to learn, to spend time with her friends, and to explore an afterworld that changes each day. But certain classmates are determined to unearth Alex’s history, and with each new piece of information that comes to light, she is buried deeper in controversy.
The living and the dead have always existed apart from one another, but there are gifted humans who can see spirits and they believe Alex to be their slain civil leader. When they begin to break down the barriers that protect the city, the afterworld becomes vulnerable to exposure, and all fingers point to Alex. Clear lines have been drawn in the sand, and Alex doesn’t know whether to stand with the living or the dead. Both sides want to use her for their own gain. What they don’t realize is that neither side will want her when they find out who she really is.
About the Author: A. Lynden Rolland was born and raised in Annapolis, MD, a town obsessed with boats, booze, and blue crabs. As a child she spent much of her free time compiling dramatic stories of tragic characters in a weathered notebook which she still keeps. As a former high school English teacher, she enjoys visiting classrooms to discuss reading, writing, and publishing. She is represented by Rachael Dugas of Talcott Notch Literary Services. Of Breakable Things, her debut novel, was released in 2014. The sequel, Of Delicate Pieces releases in October 2015.
