Today, I’m thrilled to spotlight SCION OF THE SUN, by Nicola Marsh. Can’t wait to read this one! I’ve got a special treat for you, too: a special guest post from Holly, the MC of SCION OF THE SUN.
HOLLY’S TOP 5 FAVE SUBJECTS AT C.U.LT.
So I’m currently enrolled at a freaky boarding school: C.U.L.T.
The Clique of the Luminary Telepathies.
See, told you it was freaky.
Along with English, Chem and algebra, I get to study other stuff. Really weird stuff. But I have to admit, some of it’s pretty cool, and intriguing. Especially if it’ll help with my duties as the Scion, when I have to find Arwen, defeat the Lord of Darkness and save the world.
Here are my top 5 subjects:
Parapsychology: where I get to study supernatural psychic phenomena
Psychic scrying: where I learn how to predict the future using bowls and black liquid and the moon.
Semantics: I study signs and symbols, in particular, ancient Celtic symbols that relate to me finding Arwen. Stuff like the triskelion, and the three rays/triple flame. That last one? Vital. It’s a life-saver.
Lithology: I study rock structure and composition. Considering my final confrontation with Cadifor takes place in the Cave of the Sun, I better study real hard.
Dendrology: the study of trees, which is big in Eiros, considering Ogham, their Celtic language, is based on trees. No great surprise that my tree is…holly. The Ogham symbol for my name is like a backward capital E. My tree’s symbolic meaning is action, assertion, objectivity. Hey, I’m trying!
ABOUT THE BOOK
When she least expects it, sixteen-year old Holly Burton’s unremarkable life is shaken to the core. A vision of the mother Holly never knew leaves her questioning everything she believes.
Eager for answers, Holly enrolls at a boarding school for highly gifted students in Wolfebane, New Hampshire. But things will get worse before they get better, as Holly accidentally transports to a parallel existence where she’s confronted by a dark and ancient evil.
With the help of Joss, a sexy alpha warrior sworn to protect her, and her new BFF, the equally swoon-worthy Quinn, Holly faces her fears and an unlikely adversary in a showdown that is worse than anything she could’ve possibly imagined …
