I’m so excited to be participating in the Autumn’s Harvest Blog Hop. Fall is my favorite season, so this should be a blast. And to sweeten the deal, I’m giving away one $5 gift card to Starbucks, so you can have your own cozy taste of fall.
Now: on to the topic of the hour. Fall.
At this time of year, it’s impossible to ignore the impending winter, but we can cling to fall for a bit longer. Crisp apples, crackling leaves underfoot, and smokey bonfires punctuate this season.
As perfect and delectable as autumn is, I wouldn’t want it to last any longer than it does. The global climate ramifications for such a wish are impossible to comprehend, for starters! But seriously, fall is all the more precious because it is fleeting. Same goes for spring, summer, and yes, even winter. When the wheel of the year turns, we get the chance to reinvent ourselves for a little while.
Who do you become in fall? I bundle up in thick scarves (but no jacket), and take lots of walks across crunchy leaves. I try to soak up every last bit of sunshine, since the crisp kiss of the air reminds me that winter is just around the corner. Fall is also the time when two of my favorite holidays occur: Thanksgiving, which I’m still looking forward to, and Halloween, my all-time favorite.
Fall is also a great time for some of my favorite books. I don’t like to be scared, as a rule, but in the fall, all that changes. Whether I’m re-reading Dracula or discovering a new paranormal tale, this is the perfect time of year to curl up with a creepy romantic mystery, and I love getting scared as the days get shorter and darkness creeps around us.
There’s something magical about autumn. Who will you become in this last golden season before the world turns white?
And remember, we have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!
